Ginger is said to be a medicinal chest in itself. All seven dhatus or tissues benefit from it. Its numerous uses makes it one of the most important herbs in ancient traditional practice. Our article today will focus on ginger for digestion. The effectiveness of ginger for stomach issues is unmatched. But before we do that, we need to know the energetics of ginger. Its taste is pungent and sweet, and its energy is highly heaty. It is therefore excellent for Vata and Kapha.

Ginger For Digestion

1. Ginger Kindles Agni.

Ginger is one of the best herbs to strengthen agni or the digestive fire, thanks to its powerful warming properties. And, the first step to proper digestion is to enhance agni. To warm up your body and improve your agni, enjoy a cup of warm ginger water every day.

2. Ginger Prevents & Treats Nausea.

Nausea can get pretty uncomfortable, especially while traveling. When your tummy feels funny, just chew some ginger. It’ll settle things down in no time! Here are some more natural and effective remedies for nausea.

3. Ginger Boosts Nutrient Absorption.

Optimising the process of nutrient absorption in the body is another benefit of ginger for digestion. This power herb stimulating the flow of digestive juices. It tones the muscles in the intestine and aids the breakdown of food. This way, you get maximum benefit from the food you eat.

4. Ginger Is A Metabolism Stimulant.

Metabolism slows down as we age, but it should never be sluggish. This can add unwanted kilos. One easy and effective way to boost metabolism is with warming and stimulating herbs like ginger. Just add ginger to your food or sip on warm ginger water 30 minutes before or after meals. You can also start your day with warm ginger water.
