Itchy Throat Remedies

1. Ginger And Lemon Tea Soothe Itchy Throat.

Ginger and lemon soothe your throat as they have antibacterial as well as antioxidative properties. So, try this tea – boil one cup of warm water and add some ginger. Steep the tea for 5 minutes and strain. Mix one tsp fresh lemon juice and drink warm. You can also add honey for better taste and more effective results.

2. Salt Water Gargle Comforts Tickle In The Throat.

Go for a daily salt water gargle. It is essential for oral health care, and it also clears the respiratory channels. Therefore, add a pinch of salt in warm water and gargle to get rid of dryness in the throat.

3. Ease An Itchy Throat And Cough With Honey.

Ayurveda suggests taking one tsp honey before sleeping to get rid of the itchy throat and cough. Since honey is antibacterial in nature, it helps eliminate the cause of itching. Do not give honey to babies under the age of one.

4. Constant Tickle In The Throat? Drink Apple Cider Vinegar.

Use apple cider vinegar to get rid of an itchy throat. ACV contains acetic acid which helps flush irritants from the throat and provide immediate relief. So, mix one teaspoon of ACV in a cup of water and drink it every day.

5. Consume Aloe Vera For An Irritation-Free Throat.

Aloe vera can be consumed to benefit from its cooling as well as anti-inflammatory properties. Therefore, add fresh aloe vera gel to one cup of warm water. Keep sipping slowly and free yourself from an itchy throat.

6. Peppermint Essential Oil Can Reduce Congestion.

If mucus is the cause of that constant tickle in the throat, peppermint essential oil will be helpful. Add five drops of peppermint oil to one tablespoon of olive oil. Rub the oil over the throat gently for quick relief.

7. Try Marshmallow Root Tea.

Marshmallow roots contain a thick and sticky substance that forms a protective layer over the throat. So, add these in a cup of boiling water and leave for 5 minutes. Strain and drink twice daily.
