Dyspepsia isn’t a disease. It essentially refers to a common condition which comprises of a group of abdominal discomforts. There isn’t one predominant symptom. However, a set of physical discomforts like indigestion and bloating cause troubles. But, Ayurveda brings to you natural treatment for dyspepsia in the form of home remedies.

What Is Dyspepsia?

Dyspepsia is a condition that’s usually associated with indigestion and related discomforts. According to Ayurveda, the condition is also called jatharagni that’s essentially an imbalance of the digestive juices.

Dyspepsia Causes

  • Eating too fast or too much
  • Caffeine and alcohol consumption
  • Eating greasy, spicy, and fatty foods
  • Stomach infection
  • Food allergies
  • Thyroid imbalance
  • Bloating
  • Obesity
  • Gallstones
  • Smoking
  • Stress

Dyspepsia Symptoms

  • Feelings of fullness
  • Abdominal pain
  • Feeling bloated
  • Nausea
  • Indigestion
  • Loss of appetite
  • Dark stool
  • Breath shortness
  • Acidic taste in the mouth
  • Chest pain
  • Vomiting

Dyspepsia Diet: Foods To Eat And Avoid For Dyspepsia

A dyspepsia healing diet should include:

  • Flavanoid rich foods like apple, celery, and cranberries
  • High fiber foods like nuts, celery, yogurt, whole grains, and legumes

On the other hand, consuming these foods can trigger the symptoms of dyspepsia:

  • Spicy, fatty as well as fried foods
  • Caffeinated and carbonated drinks
  • Cocoa, chocolates, alcohol, and citrus fruit juices
  • Tomato and peppermint products

Natural Treatment For Dyspepsia

1. Ginger For Dyspepsia

Ginger is an effective digestive agent that prevents the symptoms of dyspepsia. Mix 5 grams of ginger in some jaggery and salt. Eat this twice daily before every meal and then you should get relief from the uneasiness.

2. Artichoke Extract

Artichoke extract is one of the best natural treatments for dyspepsia. Within three to four weeks, even functional dyspepsia can significantly reduce. The feeling of fullness, nausea, bloating as well as the pain will most likely go away easily.

3. Lemon

This is also a wonderful and a natural treatment for dyspepsia. Lemon is a powerful ingredient that cures several stomach related ailments. It clears out all the bacterial infection and inflammation from your gut, which strengthens the digestive system. So, drink lemon juice thrice daily to cure the condition. You can also mix 1 gram of black pepper powder in some lemon juice with black salt, heat it, and then take it twice a day.

4. Buttermilk

One of the simplest and most natural treatments for dyspepsia is buttermilk. It not only soothes the intestines but also aids better digestion. For best results, add some cumin seeds powder or black pepper powder in one glass of buttermilk to drink three times in a day. This will instantly provide relief.

5. Fennel

Fennel is also highly soothing for stomach related disorders. It even works well for dyspepsia. Soak about 25 grams of fennel seeds in 400 ml water for 3-4 hours. Press and strain the solution and mix some lime juice in the water. Divide this into three equal parts and drink each of them after breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Fennel cures an upset stomach and lime helps fight against bacteria.
