Ayurveda has it simple and straightforward – good health starts with better digestion. When consumed the right way, food acts as your medicine. So, maintaining regular meal timing keeps you happier and healthy. We’ve earlier talked about the importance of breakfast and lunch – but what about the best time to eat dinner? Ayurveda recommends having an early dinner i.e. maximum by 8 pm. Here’s how it’s beneficial.

What’s The Best Time To Eat Dinner?

Well, the right time is whenever you feel hungry. Technically, this is the time when your previous meal is digested. So, understanding your body signals must be an important practice to be adopted. The most preferable dinner time is between 6 and 8 pm.

Why An Early Dinner?

Your body has an internal clock that helps adapt to changes. Thus, setting one time for dinner gets you in tune with a routine. This doesn’t confuse the body, preventing several health issues. An early dinner also maintains the required gap between your sleep and meals to aid better digestion.

Eating right and at the right time also converts the food into energy and not fat. Your metabolic activities improve, dinner time is in place, and bowel movements are proper.

Benefits Of Early Dinner Timings

1. It Helps Manage Weight.

Eating late at night only makes you gain weight. But, in order to remain fit and active, it’s better to have your dinner by 7-8pm which is also said to be the best time to eat dinner. It strengthens your immunity, speed up metabolism and makes you hungry for breakfast the next morning.

2. It Keeps You Energized.

Your bedtime feels better. A hefty meal may disturb your mood, cause exhaustion and lower the energy levels. An early dinner doesn’t make you feel heavy, the digestive system hasn’t worked too hard all night, and it ultimately makes you feel productive the next day.

3. It Curbs Stomach Ailments.

For a healthier gut, time your meals. Eat breakfast, do not skip lunch, and set early dinner time. It is important since it helps fight problems like constipation, acidity, heartburn, flatulence, and more.

4. You Wake Up Feeling Hungry.

It’s likely of you to skip breakfast in the absence of a routine. An improper lifestyle disturbs your appetite. But, the practice of early dinner automatically gets you on intermittent fasting and this gap makes you feel hungry for breakfast the next morning.

5. You Sleep & Start Better.

Since there’s a break between your dinner time and sleep, the digestive system gets to work beforehand and not overnight. This lets you sleep undisturbed and wake up to a great start.

6. Your Heart Remains In Good Health.

Usually, 6-7 pm is said to be the best time to eat dinner. So, when you’re having your meals on time, it reduces the risk of having heart-related problems like strokes or attacks. Right habits positively affect your cardiovascular health.
